Your pet bird is sick and you are completely at lost how could that possibly be. Your pet bird spends most of the times inside your home and not exposed to any bad environmental conditions at all. Here is some thought, your house may not be that safe as you think it is.

If there child unfriendly homes, then there are avian-unfriendly homes. Actually, there are different kinds of dangers your bird can be exposed to even if you try to make it danger-free. Birds have sensitive respiratory systems, can be very small in size and they also have fast metabolism. These are also factors for bird dangers inside your home.

As a pet owner, you have to be vigilant and alert on anything that you notice in your house. Here are some common dangers which you can easily avoid by being attentive and cautious.

• Poisoning

Birds can get poisoned by things that they have eaten or inhaled. Inhaled poisonous materials can come from aerosol, insecticides and other cleaning products that you are using at home. Even those air fresheners can be dangerous to your bird’s respiratory system. Other common fumes which can be poisonous to birds are glues, nail polish remover, perfumes, and paint. So, if you will be doing some cleaning, better move your bird away from the area.

Non-stick cookware when over-heated also emit fumes which are bad for your health. If your bird is located near the kitchen, then move it out of there. You must understand this fact that the heat from the oven is very dangerous to the health of your bird and slowly it is killing it. Another thing you can avoid is using scented candles, there are some birds allergic to certain odours.

Another thing you have to be cautious with is cigarette smoke. It is not only bad for the smoker and the people who inhale it, but also deeply affects your pet birds.

A food that is inappropriate also may kill your birds. Avoid feeding your birds with food with high sugar, fat and salt.In the long run This would certainly kill your birds after sometime. Avoid feeding avocado and chocolates to your birds. Prevent your bird in biting and eating the newspapers in the bottom of the cage, newspaper ink is poisonous for birds.

• Open water (like toilet)

Birds cannot swim. It is easy for small birds to fall in cooking pots, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, buckets and other water containers and drown. Make sure to put the lid down of toilet seats. You can just close the bathroom door altogether.

• Ceiling fans, windows/doors and mirrors

Birds are easily stressed by things moving above them, it is better to relocate a bird’s cageif there are ceiling fans near it. A bird can easily fly through a moving ceiling fan and cause serious damage. Open windows and doors can give the birds a chance to fly away.In case it is closed, the bird can collide into it while flying, which will creat serious physical injuries. So if you are going to let your bird fly out of the cage for a while, it would be better to let the curtains down.

Birds think that they can get through glass, they do not know that it is a transparent solid. But if the curtains are down, they know for sure that flying through the curtains is altogether, impossible.

Pet birds are very intelligent and are very curious about exploring and tasting. Since their size can permit them to have access in every nook and corner of the house, it is important to watch over them and make sure that would not get injured by simple things in the house.

There are many types and sizes of bird cages to choose from. If you a looking for a parrot bird cage, for expample, the list could be endless.Parrots come in many species and sizes and finding the correct parrot bird cage for your pet bird is knowing what to ask and what to look for.

Ultimately, the correct parrot bird cage for your pet bird is one which is large enough, doesn’t contain dangerousitems that could injure your pet, has the proper bar spacing, is easy cleaning for the owner and is set at a area where your petbird can interact and be part of the family.

Size is the first item you should consider. No matter where you get your parrot bird cage, whether it is in a store front or online, there should be a sizing chart or guide available for you to review. Also, ask questions to the sales person where your purchasing from. Let them know the species of bird and they should be able to offer a minimum size of cage. Bar spacing is also important here. Normal bar spacing is 5/8″ or 1″. Once again, ask the sales person of internet website owner what the maximum recommended bar spacing is for your bird.

Make sure you are acquiring a high quality cage from a good manufacturer. Paint is very mandatory and any bird cage should use a powder coating process for their painted cages. You can avoid this issue by purchasing a stainless-steel bird bird cage, but often these are very expensive and not affordable to the average bird owner. Any retail or online store should provide you information on the painting process and facts about the bird cages concerning peeling, scratching and other ways a bird can ingest paint from the bird cage.

Your bird cage should be easy to maintain. This is important because it is essential to your bird that you maintain its home. If a bird cage is difficult to clean you will more than likely not do it as often as needed. Now, I do not know of an individual bird owner that enjoys this task but making it more tedious than it needs to be just adds frustration for you. Easily removable trays, access to food and water, seed catchers, etc. are all things that ought to be properly thought out before your purchase.

Finally, the last and maybe the most essential aspect bird cage purchasing is picking the area to place it within your home. Going through the process of buying a bird, bird cage, toys, supplies and all the other stuff that accompany it and then sticking your feathered friend in the north wing of your home when you’re in the south wing all the time is not smart. Experience your pet bird and let him enjoy you. Birds, especially bigger varieties like to interact and be part of the family. Having them away from the family is invariably harmful and can lead tophysical and psychological damage to your bird.

So, ask questions, get the proper size and bar widths, check the manufacturer, and find the right area for your parrot bird cage. If you do these items, you and your bird will both benefit and live longer and happier lives.

If you have been pondering about owning pet birds, you must think hard about the decision before you settle into anything final. There are many factors that you have to relate in your own situation to make sure that you will be able to give your pets the best kind of nurture and commitment that they truly deserve.

You may want to indulge first on some research to gather more information about what you want to get into before you choose the kinds of birds that you want to own. Each species vary in terms of talents, time requirements and other vital factors that you must be ready to face once you accept the role or being their master.

You can easily do your research at home. Engage some time browsing the Internet about the many aspects that you may want to know about the matter. You can select and go through the websites that are dedicated to the topic. You can also read blog posts which are written by pet owners. And you can also join in online forums to engage in conversations that can help you know more about the matter. You can also check these forums when you already have the pets and you want to ask for help from your fellow pet owners.

To help you think about what you are about to get into, here are the vital factors that you must think about as you decide about this.

1. Consideration of the budget. The prices of birds depend on their kinds and where you will buy them. But your expenses don’t end once you have bought them. Actually, it is only starting because through time, you will have to engage your birds in various activities to stimulate them. To do this, You must procure and keep necessary toys and other things which will help them to become more active and happy. You must also include on your budget their food.

You must be able to meet their their nutritional requirement so that they will have more energy and they can give you company for long. It should also be anticipated by you that they also can fall sick and yo will have to take them on vets and buy the medicines that they need. In buying birds, you must choose the right store and the right breeder so that you won’t run the risk of acquiring birds that are unhealthy and sickly.

2. Time commitment. If you cannot afford to allot time to show care for your birds, you might as well not continue with the purchase. You can also ask the store for the breeds that do not necessarily have to be pampered if you cannot really attend to them that much. You can also choose the types based on their life spans. This way, you can opt for those that can last longer if you want something that can be with you for as long as you want.

3. Level of the noise. In choosing your birds, you must also mind your neighbors. Larger parrots like macaws and cockatoos tend to be more noisy. If you want the kinds that you can keep in setting like townhouses and condominiums, you may want to opt for lovebirds and budgies. Or to be more on the safe side, you may want to settle for the likes of doves, canaries and finches.

These are all essential in choosing the kinds of pet birds that will be ideal for your lifestyle and the quality of commitment that you can master to give in the process.

When you are in the imaging industry, it is important to find printers that should give consumers the quality imaging which they merit. Whether they require 20 -inch posters or 55 -inch signs, it’s always vital to have the equipment to create pictures and images that abide by your customers’ specs. This is when the Epson line up of photo printers and photo printer cartridge may be one of the most trusted equipment that you could include in the studio.

The appeal of Epson laser printer cartridges lies in three original principal technologies applicable to the ink system, printer heads and algorithmic control unit of their printers. The first is the Epson UltraChrome K3™ Ink Technology with Vivid Magenta. The printer ink in your inkjet printer ink cartridges produces high-density pigments that enable you to represent a broad selection of colors. This results in photos and images which are livelier and more genuine. The enhanced chemistry of the toner ink what’s more bodes highly for the image’s color durability and resistance to scratch. To meet the demands of high-resolution imagery, Epson printers additionally use MicroPiezo® AMC™ Print Head Technology. This printhead technology enables your photo printer to control resolutions as high as 2880 x 1440 pixels per inch (ppi). Those functions are all controlled by AccuPhoto™ HD2 Screening Technology, an algorithm that maximizes ink usage and allows for liquefied transitions between color gradients. This further enhances the over-all appearance of your printed image.

Those three technologies are present in every printer models, whether you’re utilizing the 17-inch Epson Stylus Pro 3880 or the 64-inch 11880. With every images from an Epson printer, you get high-quality images that would without doubt thrill your clientele and keep them coming back to your company for every one of their printing requests.

Therefore next time you take a journey to the nearby shop, you don’t need to fritter away your time grappling your decision relating value and resources, because you by now recognize that there are ready options for a buyer like you.

A bird bath provides songbirds and other wildlife with a vital supply of drinking water plus a convenient place to bathe, and can draw birds to your yard like a magnet. Here’s a simple guide to picking out the ideal bird bath for your yard.

First, decide where you would like to place your bird bath. Birds typically like a quiet, secluded spot, as opposed to a place out in the open. Place your bird bath nestled in amongst some trees or flowers, and if you have got birdfeeders in your yard as well, it is best to position the bird bath nearby.

The most common kind of bird bath is a saucer on top of a pedestal, but this design is basically not awfully enticing to birds. Birds prefer to wash on the ground, and a shallow dish directly on the ground can bring more birds to your yard. Wild bird supply stores and garden centers sell a wide selection of ground level bird baths. Another possibility is to merely invert a clean garbage can lid plus fill it with water.

If your heated bird baths are more than only two inches deep, you could need to place some large stones within of it. Not only will this stabilize your bird bath, but it will also create perches for smaller birds and can provide traction for any smaller critters such as mice or voles which slip into the water. Place the stones close to the edge of the bird bath, leaving space in the middle for larger birds to bathe.

Running water is very enticing to birds. Consider adding a tiny fountain or drip tube to your bird bath. Look for them in bird supply stores.

Larger is better. If you have got space to dig a little pond or other water feature to your yard, go for it. Local birds plus wildlife will thank you. If you’ve got a naturally moist spot in your yard, consider turning it into a rain garden. This is good both for the birds plus for the soil.

During the winter, birds within the wild will frequently eat snow for moisture, but if you live in a cold climate, think about investing in a heated bird bath or an electrical bird bath de-icer to provide birds with fresh water year round. A low-tech answer is to buy dark colored bird baths, which will naturally gather the sun’s heat and can keep the bird bath water liquid when the air temps get chilly.

Lovebird’s care isn’t a simple achievement. You must keep in mind the things they require, to keep them healthy and in good condition. They deserve to be supplied with correct nourishment, with the most healthy foods, cages, toys, and allocated special time to bond with their owner.

They adore interaction for they’re socially active creatures. Without social interaction either with a human or another Lovebird, or not having diversions, Lovebirds can be bored and stressed that might result to a behavior problem. Certainly, you as a Lovebird owner do not want that. This makes an important addition to your Lovebirds care list.

They also eat, full cereals and whole grains for example, barley, oats, multigrain, and full rice, also, sprouts, weeds, seeds like sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, beans, watch out with lima and navy beans for they also, are lethal. Pellets that created for lovebirds is a good healthy addition. You may want to add that to your list. Also other low-fat, healthy food that we eat can be given to the Lovebirds. Remember though that Lovebirds can be overweight and have lipomas which is a fatty growth.

Also you may remember and add this to your Lovebird health record that they’re normally vegetarian, and encouraging them to eat a meat-free diet at a tender age would be a good idea, reinforced with vegetal proteins. Adult Lovebirds that aren’t used to this diet can have a difficult time coping, but this is cured by showing them that other Lovebirds eat it too, and it would be a good idea to put a mirror on the new food, as they learn by mimicry (add that to your list).

Their are lots of perils coaxing round the corner you may not know. A number of them that you may want to put in your Lovebird’s care list are, blue-green algaes, chocolate, dog and cat spit, household cleaners and detergents and Teflon. When Teflon is heated and gets too hot it gives off smoke that are deadly to your Lovebirds.

It’s also best to get a good vet before any bad conditions arise. You can try for suggestions, because there are vets who see few cases of bird health issues, and don’t have much experience in diagnosing and treating them.

Also one of the most important things you want to pay attention to is the cage and the space you have for your Lovebirds, they need a spacious place where they are able to fly, it is a kind of exercise for them which is important for your bird’s health. They also like to bathe and get warm in the sun. If you don’t have the required space it will not be a good idea to take on a Lovebird.

It’s also a good idea to hand-feed your Lovebirds, that gives them more time with you and also acts like a “getting to know” you stage which is enjoyed by your bird and will certainly be excellent for the Lovebird’s health

If you’re looking for a pet bird parrot, and you decide to go with a macaw, then you will have a few challenges ahead of you. You’ll need to be sure you have the time and attention to devote to this bird, not to mention enough space in which it can live comfortably. Yet if you have all that, you’re likely to be richly rewarded. These parrots, which are the largest and most brightly colored of the domesticated parrot bird breeds, are very sociable and active, and will keep you in great company.

The qualities that make a macaw a good pet bird parrot include a high degree of intelligence, curiosity and trainability. This type of bird enjoys playing, and can be very loving to its human companions. However, because of its intelligence, it also requires a great deal of mental stimulation, so you will need to spend a lot of time with it. You will want to stay constantly engaged in bird training to keep it behaving properly, yet it will be quite happy to participate in this interaction. You should also know that a macaw can sometimes get rather loud and it doesn’t mimic human speech quite as clearly as other parrots.

A macaw will need quite a large pet bird cage, but will also need to be able to come out of the cage at certain points during the day, for exercise and social interaction. This not only means that you will have to find a cage large enough to allow it to spread and flap its wings inside, but that you’ll have to “parrot-proof” your house or apartment as well. This parrot loves to chew things but you should only give it toys of wood or rope rather than plastic, which it can break easily. And you need to protect things outside the cage that it might chew on and break into smaller pieces that it could swallow.

If you’re prepared for the time and effort needed for bird training, then getting a macaw may be just the right move for you. Having this sort of pet bird parrot can be exhilarating, as you learn together to interact on a level of intelligence you just won’t share with a lot of other kinds of birds. This parrot won’t be just a decoration in your home, but it could become a valued, affectionate companion for a great many years.

If you happen to visit a pet store, it is very easy to get enamored with pet birds. Once you have fallen in love with them and choose to purchase the kinds that you like the most, you must first think about the decision before you pay for them and take the birds at your home.

Are you sure that they can fit on the kind of lifestyle that you are leading? Look at your space. The size of the birds that you will buy should fit perfectly well to your allotted area. You should also consider your neighbors. There are the kinds that create so much noise which may cause trouble with people living near your house. You may want to opt for the kinds that are quiet most of the time, especially if you are living in a condominium or apartments.

So why should you opt for birds as your pets? Here are some vital reasons that can help you regarding the matter. Take a look at this list that contains the top reasons why people choose birds as their pets than the other kinds of animals.

1. Birds are social creatures. The extremity depends on the species that you choose to acquire. They can be affectionate, a good reward for all your hard work and commitment. You can get the satisfaction that you will also gain from owning a pet dog or cat. Birds can be loving as long as you also show them that you care for them and that you love them. There are some owners of birds that choose to be inseparable with their pets. They take the birds along with them wherever they go and where birds are allowed.

2. They are intelligent. Birds are known to be smarts. They have the capacity to learn and they are also inquisitive with their surrounding and nature. When you make them your pets, they will learn a lot from you depending on how you treat them and how you interact with them. Your dogs or cats can never learn to say hi or good morning. But your birds surely can, especially if you have allotted enough time and effort to teach them how.

3. Training your birds can be fairly simple. Your birds are eager to learn from you. So if you will be able to teach them what you want them to know, they will easily get what you want them to do. You can start with simple tasks like whistling. Then you can proceed in teaching them few words to start widening their vocabulary. If you want, you can get a trainer for your pets. But it will be best if you can provide such training even if you don’t have much experience about the matter. This is your chance to bond with your pets and to develop nurturing emotions toward each other.

4. They are easy to handle. You don’t have to take your birds with you for a brisk walk in the morning and afternoon. You don’t have to bathe them and groom them all the time. If you have to leave your house, all you have to do is keep your birds on their cages and serve them with enough water and food that will suffice until you come back.

You must only make sure that you keep the cages of your pet birds clean all the time to keep them away from sickness and other injuries that they may incur in the process.

Keeping free range hens in your backyard can be a lot of fun. The eggs will be fresh and taste delicious. If you intend to raise your hens as pets you will not think about having the occasional Sunday roast dinner courtesy of your feathered flock, but it is something to at least consider as a good source of income perhaps.

None of this can be done without looking after your chickens properly. These, then, are the vital steps for getting and keeping your flock in tip top condition.

Step 1, choose the breed. You need to choose a breed that thrives in your particular area and suits your own requirements. Preference for warmer or cooler climes, egg-layer or dinner table, pet or farmyard bird – there are many things to consider before you get your hens. You can get good advice from your local hen supplier and from poultry farmers in your area.

Step 2, choose the right number of birds. Chickens need space in which to forage, exercise and nest comfortably. Plan on about one square meter or 10 square feet for each bird. This will govern the maximum number of chickens you should plan on getting, based on the available space you have. For social reasons (the chickens, not you!) three is considered the minimum number of birds for a flock.

Step 3, decide how much time you will have available. Poultry needs daily care and attention for providing food and water, cleaning out the coop and other jobs such as checking the security of perimeter fencing. Allow 10 or 15 minutes for a small flock, and expect them to follow you closely as you walk around their pen.

Step 4, build accommodation. Your birds will need safe places to roost and nest, particularly at night, and safety from predators. You should provide fresh water and shelter from hot sunshine. The chicken house should be easy to clean and allow egg collection without too much disturbance for the hens.

Step 5, provide protection. Safety from predators is paramount and there is a wide range of these including cats and dogs, rats, wild animals, birds of prey, even snakes. Do not underestimate the ability of predators to gain access to your hens through or under fences over time. The coop and hen run must be safe and secure from all such predators. Look out for eagles and other big birds of prey, and put a suitable covering over the run if necessary – it will also stop your chickens flying up into nearby trees!

Step 6, consider health precautions. There are quite a few diseases that can affect hens, and you need to check out those that are common in your locality. Internet forums, local chicken farmers and vets are all useful sources – people involved with hens are all very helpful.

Step 7, identify applicable regulations. You must know and comply with all applicable laws for keeping hens in your locality, although often these are not too oppressive. Seek help and advice from your local town hall or government offices.

Step 8, provide a good diet. Chickens need protein, grains, greens and water. Protein is especially important, and your local feed store will be able to advise you on a suitable source. Protein supplements and grit are sometimes needed, but usually free range hens will get enough from their own foraging. Fresh, clean water must be available at all times. If you are going to be away you might need to fit automatic water dispensers for the chickens. The rest of your hens’ diet should be met by foraging around their pen area.

Step 9, consider weather and climate. Most chicken varieties are fairly tolerant of harsh climactic conditions, provided that you give them access to shade when the sun is overhead. Make sure, however, that they are able to keep their feet dry.

Step 10, consider your local environment. Most often people like hens in their neighborhood, so you are unlikely to have any problems. You might need to reassure some of your neighbors about possible noise and smells, to get their support. Often the promise of fresh, free range eggs can work wonders!

You will note that none of these vital steps is anything other than common sense. Following them should ensure that you have happy and healthy chickens in your backyard. One final thought – each happy hen should give you 6 fresh eggs each week throughout the spring and summer months!

Imagine what it is like living in a cage? Chances are, you will feel bored after just a few minutes so you can probably understand how your pet bird feels like being locked the whole day. That is why to prevent them from doing anything harmful to themselves, you should know how to choose the right toys for them.

When looking for a toy, make sure that this is the right size for your bird. Small toys are not good for large birds because they could break this, swallow and choke on it.

One safe toy for both small and big birds is the swing. This will allow them to sway back and forth to pass the time.

If you are interested in giving some exercise to your bird, it will be nice to put a ladder which will enable them to climb up or down.

Large birds like to play with puzzles and mazes. As an added incentive, see to it that there are nuts inside which they can get as a reward for being able to finish the game.

Let’s say your bird loves to pluck its feathers. Now this can be harmful to them so the best toy to get is the kind that preened. Mostly the preened toys are made out of cotton fabric. The downside to using this is that type of toy is that it will eventually fray due to wear and tear.

When this happens, remove it immediately and have it replaced with a new one because the threads could tangle around their neck or toe.

An option to the preened toy made of cotton is the one made from feathers that are considered to be safer since loose threads will never happen.

Other toys you can give your pet bird include children’s wooden blocks, paper towel tubes and tongue depressors.

If one or two of the toys interest you and having more is better than having one or two around, you can create a play gym for your pet bird by buying several of these, putting it together and placing this inside their cage.

You should just be sure there is sufficient room so the bird can rest and do some other stuff when they don’t feel like playing.

Now that we know what toys are nice for the bird, it is important to know what toys are not safe for birds. These include mirrors or anything that has a reflective surface because this may make the bird bond to its own reflection thus no longer being tame and friendly to people.

Toys with small parts should never be given because they could swallow it and there could be fatal consequences. It should also not have any bells or split rings.

Your pet bird needs time to unwind and providing them with toys is one way to keep them from bring unhappy and bored especially when you are not around to be with them.

Most of these toys can be purchased from the toy store or grocery so will not have a hard time finding a few things to keep them busy until you get home. If you want toys exclusive for pet birds, try looking online and in other specialty stores. You must know that those toys that are solidly built are best to give them.
